Inn Policies

Please carefully read all policies before making your reservation.  As with most bed and breakfasts, when you stay at the Doubleday Inn you are staying at our home.  We have developed these policies for the maximum enjoyment of all guests and for the smooth day to day operation of the Inn.  No exceptions to these policies are possible.

Check-In Time: We are a private home, and do not maintain a 24 hour check-in desk. Rooms are guaranteed ready by 2 pm, and check-in is by 6 pm. All check-ins after 6 pm will be unattended and must be specifically pre-arranged. Late check-in is subject to a $25 fee if not specifically pre-arranged. If you would like an early check-in time, please phone us as this is often possible.

Check-Out Time: 11 AM. Late check-out is subject to a $25 fee. Rooms not vacated by 12 pm will incur an extra night's charge.

Reservation Policy: 50% deposit for entire stay is due at the time you make your reservation. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards. Remaining balance is due at check-in, when we can also accept cash or Traveler's checks.

Cancellation Policy: Due to our intimate size and as most of our guests plan their visits with us quite some time in advance, cancellations affect us significantly. Please be certain that your travel plans are firm before booking. To mitigate the effects of unforeseen events, we highly recommend securing Trip Insurance. Details of cancellation policy for individual rooms are as follows:

	Deposit will be refunded minus a $25 processing fee if cancellation is made at least 10 days prior to reservation.
	Cancellations made within 10 days of reservation will result in a forfeit of your deposit.
	Cancellations within 72 hours of stay, No-Shows or guests checking out before the last day of their reservation will result in full room charge.

Groups/Special Events: Please note: For groups of 3 or more rooms or reservations for holidays/special events, 30 days cancellation notice is required to receive refund of deposit less $25 processing fee, and cancellation within 7 days of stay will result in full room charge.

	All rates are subject to 6% PA State sales tax and 3% local room tax.
	A two night minimum stay requirement applies to all weekends during the high season, and may apply to holiday and special events weekends throughout the year.
	Gift Certificates are available in any dollar amount and are valid for 1 year from date of purchase.
	Our Inn is appropriate for children ages 13 and older only. Children may not be left unaccompanied at the Inn for any amount of time.
	Our Inn purposely has no televisions so that all guests may enjoy a quiet & relaxing environment. Guests are welcome to bring DVD players/laptop computers for their personal use and we ask that you please use headphones with these devices so that other guests are not disturbed.
	Please note that we are UNABLE to provide ice. We do provide a guest refrigerator with 24 hour access in the dining room for any items you may wish to keep cold during your stay. Guests are free to bring personal coolers to keep in their rooms should they require ice during their visit.
	Smoking is permitted in outdoor areas only
	Sorry, no pets allowed. For animal lovers our Golden Retriever, Molly is available upon request!

Inn Services

	On most Wednesday and Saturday nights, our Historian Charles Kingston, a Licensed Battlefield Guide for 20 years, leads a question and answer discussion at the Inn from 9-11 pm. Charlie is also available for guided personal tours, which originate at the Inn.
	Copies of the CD Auto Tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield are available for loan during your stay.
	The Innkeepers will be happy to make dinner reservations for you.
	Information on Gettysburg activities/museums/ghost walks.
	Special occasions and surprises including birthdays, anniversaries and reunions.
	We are happy to arrange in-room wine & cheese basket, flowers, champagne, etc. with advance notice.
